The industry group New Zealand Avocado says it has big plans to grow exports to China now that access to the market has been secured. The first commercial shipment of avocados from growers in the Bay of Plenty and Far North arrived in China last week, following years of preparations, inspections, trialing and certification by Chinese and New Zealand authorities.

Rivers Carbon has been involved in innovative small-run carbon fibre production since 2004, but a Project Grant from Callaghan Innovation allowed the business to expand its focus and develop a manufacturing process for a cost-effective alternative fibre.
