The Nelson Tasman company behind popular Kiwi brand Juicies has scored an international award, recently taking out the New Zealand-Taiwan Business Excellence Award in Taipei.

Tasman Bay Food Group has won the 2017 ANZCham New Zealand-Taiwan Business Excellence Award at the 12th Annual Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (ANZCham) Awards.
The Awards recognise those Australian, New Zealand and Taiwanese companies that have made a significant contribution to the bilateral business relationships between Taiwan and Australia and New Zealand.

Tasman Bay Food Group Managing Director Marina Hirst Tristram is delighted.
“It’s not only great recognition for our team here in New Zealand, but also for our partners and suppliers in international markets who are doing a great job at helping us take Juicies to the world.

“This award recognises our continued focus on business excellence and deepens and strengthens the relationship between Taiwan and New Zealand,” she says.

Juicies have been sold in Taiwan since 2014 and sales have grown to almost a million Juicies a year.

Tasman Bay Food Group Executive Director of Sales Martyn Barlow, says finding the right partner in Taiwan – with invaluable support from NZTE, has been key to success.
“The combination of the groundwork we do in finding a suitable partner, investing together in shared vision and goals for the market, active management and capitalising on the continued innovation and development of our products sets us apart from other manufacturers and exporters and means that Juicies are as exciting for our market partners as they are for us.”

Made from freshly-pressed Nelson apples blended with fruits, berries and very little else, Juicies contain no added sugar and are 100% natural. Sold in New Zealand school canteens since 1990, Juicies are now available in easy to open pop-up tubes and exported to nine different countries.

It’s not the first time Tasman Bay Food Group has won awards. Last year, the business was named as a finalist in the Excellence in Operations and Supply Chain category at the New Zealand International Business Awards 2016 and in 2015, the company won both the Rabobank Business Innovation Award, and the NZTE Export Innovation Award at the New Zealand Food Awards.
